Statement of Faith
-
We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternal. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all powerful and all knowing; His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future. God exists as one being in three co-equal and co-eternal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God with distinct attributes, but withot division of nature, essence, or being. (Matthew 1:18-23, Matthew 3:17, Matthew 11:27, Matthew 28:18-20, John 1:1-18, John 10:30, John 14:7-11, 2 Corinthians 3:17, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 1:13-22, 1 John 5:6-12)
-
We believe the Holy Bible is the divinely inspired and authoritative Word of God. Therefore, all Scripture in its literal translation is totally true and trustworthy. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
-
We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and was born to the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scripture, was buried, and rose from the grave on the third day to save us from desctruction. (Matthew 1:21-23, John 1:1, 14, 1 John 5:20)
-
We believe the Holy Spirit is given to indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service. (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Acts 1:8, Ephesians 4:24, Colossians 3:12-14, Hebrews 10:24-25, 1 Peter 1:15-16,)
-
We believe that man was created in the image of God and that God's creation of male and female was the crowning work of His creation. The gift of gender is thus part of the goodness of God's creation. (Genesis 1:26-30, Genesis 2:7, Genesis 2:21-25, Psalm 139:13-14, Mark 10:6-9)
-
We believe that God created all human beings in His image. Therefore, we believe that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end. We believe that we must honor the physical and spiritual needs of ALL people. Following Christ's example, we believe that every person should be treated with love, dignity, and respect. We believe Christians should be ready to work with all people of good will in any good cause, always being careful to act in the spirit of love without compromising their loyalty to Christ and His truth. (Genesis 1:26-30, Psalm 139:13, Isaiah 49:1, Jeremiah 1:5, Matthew 22:37-39, Romans 5:19, Romans 12:20-21, Galatians 6:10, Ephesians 2:1-22, Colossians 3:9-11)
-
We believe that in the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by his Creator with freedom of choice. By his free choice man fell into sin and is, therefore, lost and can be saved only by the free gift of salvation, given by God's grace and received by faith in Jesus Christ alone. (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 9:6, John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Romans 1:16, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Ephesians 2:1, Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 Peter 3:18)
-
We believe that once a believer is saved through grace, salvation cannot be lost. Believers may fall into sin through neglect and temptation, which grieves the Spirit and can result in consequences to themselves and/or the cause of Christ, but does not result in a loss of salvation. (Colossians 1:9-22, Colossians 3:1-25, 2 Timothy 1:12, Titus 1:11-14, Hebrews 2:1-3, Hebrews 5:8-9, Hebrews 11:1-12:8, 1 Peter 1:2-23, 1 John 1:6-2:11)
-
We believe that baptism is not necessary for salvation, but is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus. (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 16:30-33, Romans 6:3-5, Colossians 2:12)
-
We believe that God has given parents the responsibility for their own children's education. (Deuteronomy 6:6-8, Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:4)
- We believe that in the spirit of Christ Christians should oppose racism, every form of greed, selfishness, and vice, and all forms of sexual immorality including adultery, homosexuality, and pornography. (Leviticus 18:22-23, Matthew 5:43-48, Matthew 25:34-40, Luke 10:27-37, John 15:12, Romans 1:19-32, Romans 12:1-14:23, 1 Corinthians 5:9-13, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 2 Corinthians 5:16-18, Galatians 3:26-28, Philippians 4:8-9, Colossians 3:12-17, 1 Timothy 1:8-11, James 2:8-13)
-
We believe in the imminent return of the Lord, which is the "blessed hope" of the Bride of Christ. (1 Thessalonians 1:10, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 Thessalonians 5:1-10, Matthew 24:21, 29-30, Matthew 25:31)
